There are many open air concerts, folk festivals and processions during the year, mainly of religious origin. Saints are celebrated and the processions can be colourful and noisy often ending with street parties and plenty of food and drinks. Especially many festivities from January 16th ending with the "Carnevale" on Shrove Tuesday. The "Carnevale" is a wild and boisterous affair which has to be seen to be believed, it is noisy and is of pagan origin.

"Santa Maria del Mare" is the 1st sunday in August and again is a noisy affair, a procession of fishing boats which goes down the river and ending with Mass out at sea. Followed by a huge party with food, drinks and fireworks, along with further festivals in August.

In the 2nd week of September they celebrate "Nostra Signora de sos Regnos Altos" which starts with a Mass at the castle and proceeds down through the old quarter where they finish with food, drinks and dancing....right in front of our house...be prepared to get involved if you happen to be there. Previous guests have enthused about taking part. As mentioned before the locals are friendly and keen to involve visitors.

The local Tourist office offers further details on festivals and processions.
